Internal Account Manager

Under the branch manager, the account manager is responsible for the complete management and profitable development of a customer portfolio. They act as the main point of contact and ensure comprehensive account support, including sales, operational coordination, and profitability optimization while being responsible for certain lines of specialized products.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Development & Growth

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of active customers
  • Identify growth opportunities (cross-sell, up-sell, new products)
  • Perform proactive follow-ups (calls, emails, virtual meetings)
  • Support prospecting efforts and convert incoming opportunities
  • Attend certain customer meetings (virtual or occasionally in person)
  • Promote the added value of the company and increase customer spending

Account Management & Customer Relationship

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers
  • Understand customer needs and develop account development plans
  • Manage proposals, orders, and follow-ups until sales conclusion
  • Ensure rapid, professional, and solution-oriented customer service
  • Manage customer issues (complaints, returns, disputes) efficiently

Operational Coordination

  • Work closely with yard, transport and purchasing teams
  • Ensure the availability of products and adherence to delivery deadlines
  • Monitor the accuracy of orders, prices, and commercial conditions
  • Contribute to the smoothness of operations between sales and logistics

Performance & Profitability

  • Actively manage gross margin per customer and per transaction
  • Apply a pricing discipline aligned with profitability objectives
  • Optimize the product mix and reduce the sale of low contribution products
  • Track account performance and adjust sales strategies
  • Contribute to the achievement of sales AND profitability goals

Desired Profile

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in internal sales or B2B account management
  • Experience in the construction materials (major asset)
  • Strong results orientation and business sense developed
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast environment
  • Team spirit and cross-functional collaboration
  • Comfort with technological tools (ERP, CRM, Teams, Excel)
  • Bilingual (French / English)

Compensation:

  • The base salary is between 55 and 65k dollars depending on experience plus bonus.
  • Competitive insurances and social benefits after probation period.
  • Working hours staggered between 7:00 and 17:00.
